Services / Data
Dashboards that answer questions, not ones that show charts.
Data modelling, KPIs and visualisation in Power BI or Tableau, wired to the systems you already run. The goal isn't the dashboard: it's someone making a decision with it.
The chart is rarely the problem
Almost nobody asks for a dashboard because they lack charts. They ask because each department reports a different figure for the same question, because the monthly report arrives on the fifteenth, or because someone spends two days reconciling by hand what should come out on its own.
So the work starts before the visuals: where each figure comes from, how it's calculated and which source wins when two disagree. A pretty dashboard over unreconciled data only makes the argument happen faster.
Before you decide
What we usually get asked.
- Does it work if my data lives in Excel?
- Yes, and it's the most common starting point. What's worth checking is whether those sheets are the origin of the data or a copy of something already in a system: in the second case we connect to the system and the sheets stop being needed.
- Do I need a Power BI licence?
- To publish and share dashboards inside the company, yes, and it's a monthly per-user cost worth budgeting from the start. It's sized during the assessment by how many will view and how many will build.
- Who maintains it afterwards?
- You can: we train someone on your team to add measures and adjust visuals. What we usually keep is the data model, which is where one bad change breaks every dashboard at once.
What it involves
-
Data modelling
Bringing together what's spread across the ERP, sales and spreadsheets, into a structure that survives new questions.
-
Defining the KPIs
Agreeing in writing what each figure means. It's the boring part, and the one that stops the dashboard being disputed in every meeting.
-
Power BI or Tableau dashboards
On whichever tool you already license, not the one that suits us.
-
Automatic refresh
Wired to the source, so this morning's figure is this morning's and not last close's.
Shall we look at your case?
The first assessment is free and produces a written scope. Message us and we'll set it up. Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 17:00 (GMT-5).
